The Sovereign Health Partnership Patient Forum has changed its name, and going forward are to be known as Patients of Highlands, Jubilee and Whiteley surgeries.
Since the Patient Engagement Day at the Holiday Inn on the 24th May 2022, we as the voluntary admin team have had four face-to-face meetings with Sovereign Health Partnership, which have been facilitated by Healthwatch Hampshire and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board (ICB). We have been tirelessly advocating on behalf of you the patients and carers within the group, highlighting the continued inadequacies of the service provided by Sovereign Health Partnership.
In light of the recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) report, which was done on the 27th July 2022 and published on the 20th October 2022, we as a team feel that there has been no tangible changes to the service and the concerns of the patients and carers we represent, have not been satisfactorily addressed. This has been highlighted by the breach of CQC Regulation 9 which is based upon person centred care and our rights as patients as is outlined in the NHS Constitution for England.
We have therefore decided to withdraw from the face-to-face meetings with Sovereign Health Partnership, so that we can start focusing our efforts towards being able to move forward, by raising more awareness of the inadequacies of the service and the plight of the patients and carers who we represent, without the hindrances of the protocols placed upon us over the last six months.
We hope that you will all understand the changes that we are making, to be able to have a voice and to be able to unequivocally represent and advocate on behalf of you, the patients and carers of Sovereign Health Partnership.
We are now in the process of arranging a “Patients and Carers” meeting in the next couple of weeks, which will be open to all patients and carers of Sovereign Health Partnership, so that we can update you on our progress so far and to discuss and plan a way forward.
